WeLove
2005-2008
Pushing their Rocktronic sound out to anyone with ears, WeLove likes to keep things greasy and bouncing.

Luxe chanteuse Nicole Manes touched down in Toronto from Vancouver via Santiago. While collaborating with other artists she met composer and beat-smith Arthur Yeung. The two bond over all things pre-millennial UK. Months later, Arthur invites Nicole to join him onstage during a solo performance where he’s accompanied by friend and ex-bandmate, Granny Gremlin, on bass. Following this show, Arthur and Nicole spend the next 6 months trading songs and quarter-life musings. Granny joins the conversation. Hypnotic, driving basslines unite a salvo of punchy beats, sparkling guitars, slicing synths and explosive soulful vocal stylings to form a wholly rocktronic sound.

The first recordings made by WeLove were the so-called Suana sessions, named after the unbearablly hot appartments the tracks were recorded and then mixed in. These were never officially released, but 2 (of 4) tracks recorded were available on the band's myspace for a time.

Obviously, We Love was not going to be satisfied to leave it at that, and a year later they recorded and released the Low Noon EP (CD - copies probably still available), which reprised the 2 Sauna Session tracks on myspace along with several newer songs.

Unfortunately, the band's tenure was tragically cut short in 2008 with tragic twist of rubber, metal & fate, just as they had nearly broken even on the pressing of Low Noon and were almost finished fleshing out a new batch of songs that were to take them in a darker and moodier direction.
